1/12th Miniature wood effect tea caddy/decorative box made from printed card with filigree decorations. It does not open.

Measures 19mm 15mm approx

It is empty and lid does not open as it's a decorative item for your dolls house.
Faux silver key sticking out from front. It has been coated with a fine layer of gloss varnish for a realistic finish.

A tea caddy is a receptacle used to store tea. When first introduced to Europe, tea was extremely expensive, and kept under lock and key. The containers were often expensive and decorative, to fit in with the rest of the room.

In the late 18th and early 19th century, caddies made from mahogany and rosewood were popular.
